Reset Your Perspective: A Fresh Start
A Fresh Start

It’s easy to get caught in the constant grind of coaching—the fight for every inch on the field, the battle for players’ attention, and the pressure to deliver results. But if we’re honest, sometimes it feels like we’re running on empty. That’s why it’s so important to take time for a reset.
Psalm 46:10 says, “Stop fighting, and know that I am God, exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.” This is a powerful reminder to pause, breathe, and recognize that God is in control. As much as we’re used to the hustle, there are times when God invites us to stop and let Him lead.
Remember the story of Peter in Luke 5? After a long, unsuccessful night of fishing, Jesus told Peter to put out his nets again. Exhausted but obedient, Peter followed Jesus’ command, and his nets were filled beyond what he could handle. When Peter recognized Jesus’ power, he fell to his knees in awe.
This is a picture of what happens when we reset our perspective and allow God to take control. Coaching can be exhausting, but God calls us to stop striving and trust Him with the results.
Take time this week to reflect on where you need a reset.
Trust Him—He’s got this.
Reflection Questions:
- Where in your coaching are you most tempted to push in your own strength instead of relying on God’s guidance?
- What routines or rhythms in your coaching need to be reset so that you can better align with God’s plan and purpose for your team?
- How does recognizing God’s sovereignty in your coaching affect the way you approach game-day pressure or difficult decisions?
- What would it look like to model "stopping and being still" for your team in moments of high stress? How can you lead them in trusting God during those times?
